Refresh Your Home No Sew Burlap and Lace Curtains!

Happy Wednesday Friends! When I recently updated my guest room with a lighter paint color, it was definitely time to replace the curtains.  Now I finally had the right place to hang some burlap! I used a coupon from Hobby Lobby to get 40% off the fabric combined with a recent thrift find to make two full length panels for under $20--NO sewing required!

Did you know you can get coupons from Hobby Lobby's website? I get them and store them in my phone.  I purchased 6 yards of natural colored burlap.  In hindsight I probably could have gone with 5, as my rod was hung near the ceiling and I still had to cut some off the bottom.  I just folded the fabric in half and cut two equal lengths for the panels.

Remember these? A recent thrift store find makes the perfect finishing touch and for $4 total, cost less than buying even simple lace trim.  Woo-hoo!

I love, love, love these clip on curtain rings because you can use them to make window treatments out of almost anything your little heart desires! I have used them with Vintage hankies, runners and even pretty cocktail napkins.  I scored these at a yard sale for $1 and make a habit of picking them up when I see them thrifting.  Lowe's sells them in a variety of finishes for around $5 a pack. I just clipped the lace to the burlap, beginning with a clip at each end of the panels and then evenly spacing the rest.  I used 14 clips for 2 panels on a 6 foot window.

Voila! I am really pleased with the pairing of the two fabrics, especially with the other textures in the room.  You may prefer to use burlap alone or find your own special trim--easy peasy!

  1. Love these. I just might have to get my kitchen windows done; now that there is no pressure to sew them.

  3. Those lace valances really make a pretty addition to the burlap. Must keep this in mind.
