Hi Friends! Can you believe Easter is only one week away? In my garden, I am often reminded of Mary's early morning discovery so long ago and was inspired to create a Resurrection Tree. This is a fun, celebratory project you can make with your kids. I immediately thought of Ginger Grand who always wants me to "take" him into the garden when we are talking on Face Time. Even though he wasn't here to decorate the tree with me, I chose symbols of new life with him in mind: eggs, doves and butterflies. I couldn't wait to see his reaction and was delighted to hear him exclaim, "You did it!" Just as I imagined, the butterflies were his favorite!

These plastic eggs were a $1 at the thrift store and just needed a fresh coat of Robin's egg blue. Lowe's has some great new Spring shades especially for outdoors.
While the eggs were drying, I added a cross, sign and dove ornaments that I already had. I am a big believer in using what I have first and then adding to it. I like to use fishing line for hanging--it's sturdy and almost invisible, giving items the appearance of floating.
Next I added butterflies from the craft section at the dollar store and finally the eggs. Here you can see the completed tree. I love that I can see it each morning from my bedroom window.

DeleteJust started a NEW tradition in the Crowe Casa...hunting hidden eggs via Skype. Like you, my grand babies live quite a distance from me so we had to figure out how to enjoy Resurrection day. Their excitement in locating them was perfect.
