Happy Wednesday Friends! It has been a long week but I finally have my happy kitchen back...
... and all five closets have been put back together after the house flooded a week ago--Yay! I have worked almost non-stop but I also finished prepping and staining the concrete in the bedroom where the carpet was damaged.
I have wanted to tackle the project of removing the last of the carpet from my home for some time. In that regard, it was a blessing in disguise. You can see the original carpet plus a more detailed tutorial here. No more carpet!
As I mentioned before, I really thought my rugs were ruined when I saw them under water. I was able to save these three plus my new turquoise one in the laundry room by repeated shop vacuuming, then laying them flat in the sunlight. So there is a good use for this scorching summer sun! Sunlight also prevents mildew.
Thanks again for your prayers, kind thoughts and comments. They were so appreciated when I felt overwhelmed. Come back Friday to see this week's fab finds!
MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING FOR FEATURING THIS POST:

ReplyDeleteSo glad you were able to find a silver lining Cecilia! I'm glad things are moving along and you are drying out. Here's to a much better week!!
ReplyDeleteOh no, what an awful thing to have to go through. I'm happy to hear you were able to save your rugs. Love your tablescape and all the pretty Jadeite. Thanks for sharing at VIP.
ReplyDeleteCecilia ... so happy that you have this job behind you now and that you did not loose your pretty rugs. I don't see how you got all that done in one week. It had to be a mess to clean up after water damage. I admire you for being able to do that all by yourself.
