Vintage Books: Friday's Find #302

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! I've been a lover of books for as long as I can remember and you'll find at least a few stacks of those I've collected in any room of my house. This week I scored several to share with you...

Back to School Nostalgic Vintage Vignette

Hi there, Friends! As summer comes to an end, and kids head back to school, I am reminded of the scripture from Ecclesiastes:

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. {Ecclesiastes 3:1}

While those of you with kids still in school may be hunting uniforms and school supplies, it's also a time of year that holds fond memories for many. Today I'm sharing a few of  mine...

The Good Shepherd Vintage Book Vignette

Hi there, Friends! With today being Palm Sunday and Easter just a week away, I am sharing something very close to my heart. When I was a little girl, there was an old Bible story book at my grandparents' house that captured my heart. Though it originally belonged to my uncle, it was eventually passed down to me to take home. This was my favorite of the many beautiful illustrations. Now to be honest, I haven't thought of that book in ages, that is until a recent thrifting adventure brought me...

Antique Mall Bargains Including Vintage Postcards: Friday's Find #191

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Do you shop antique malls for hidden bargains? I know several bloggers who have booths at antique malls and I bet you know a few, too. I think at times there is a faulty assumption that items will be overpriced but that isn't always the case. This week's fabulous features are bargains scored at an antique mall that I visit occasionally. It's a favorite because some of the vendors offer prices comparable to those of thrift stores--it just takes a little hunting and knowing where to look. I adore vintage postcards and couldn't wait to tuck this pretty floral friendship card into a frame on my gallery wall, plus it's not the only one I found...

15 Minute Winter Whimsy Mantel

Happy Wednesday, Friends! Since today is my first post of the new year, I thought it would be fun to resume The 15 Minute Fix. Now that the Christmas decorations are stowed away for another year, I'm adding a few cozy accents for the winter months, starting with my mantel.  As I've shared before, it isn't my favorite season and when it comes to winter decor, I'm drawn to simple and soothing with just a touch of whimsy...

Friday's Find #159

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! One of the best things about summer is the abundance of yard sales and I hit several great ones where I scored this week's fabulous finds. Anytime I see an ornate Italian frame like this one, I grab it. I decorate with them throughout my home, so it's a keeper!

Friday's Find: Beautiful Books!

TGITF, y'all! I hope you've had a blessed week.  Today I am featuring two lovelies that I found for my Etsy shop.  Both are Vintage with frame worthy illustrations.  I have had a love affair with books for as long as I can remember. I occasionally read a book on my Kindle but I still prefer the feel of a book in my hands.  How about you?

Books as Decor In Any Room!

Happy Wednesday Friends! I have entertained a life long love affair with books. Though I often use my Kindle for convenience, truth be told I still prefer the feel of a "real" book in my hands. When I was in elementary school, I would ride my bike several miles (in the snow) to the library and load up as many mystery books as my handlebar basket would hold, really--okay not the snow part! It should come as no surprise that Vintage books were among my first thrifted treasures and to this day can be found in any room of my house! Today I am sharing several ways I decorate with these classics.
