Autumn in Pastels: Collected and Handmade Home Tour

Happy Thursday, Friends and welcome to the Bloggers Best Fall Home Tour hosted by sweet Kelly at The Tattered Pew! Since I've had the pleasure of joining this talented group through several years, I try to mix things up a bit each season. This autumn I'm highlighting my handmade decor and vintage collections in soft shades of pastels...

If you are heading over after visiting Jen at tatertots & jello, welcome! I am always inspired by her charming home decor--aren't you?

Here in Texas, we had a longer and hotter than usual summer. Weeks of 100+ temps kept me indoors most of the season, but I took advantage of the time to craft lots of velvet pumpkins. A few weeks ago, I shared my fall mantel featuring the handmade lovelies and vintage milk glass.

Over the mantel is a lacy basket sign that I crafted from a vintage runner and a round placemat I scored from Target's dollar spot several years ago. I added a sprig of fresh lamb's ear from my garden--I love using the soft silvery leaves in my autumn decor.

Most of my vintage furniture has been lovingly upcycled from castaway finds. I love decorating with vintage pieces from my thrifted collections and handmade accents.

I mixed an assortment of handmade velvet and DIY succulent pumpkins to create a pastel hued centerpiece.

Just to the left near my front door, is the stack of vintage luggage that doubles as storage. My favorite is the 1950's Samsonite Bermuda green set that I scored for $4!

Like many of my vintage finds, I scored the suitcases and antique child's chair at yard sales. The classic Brother Lawrence book was a thrift store find.

Let's move on to the living room. You can read more about my thrifted furnishings, here.

You can look here to create handmade candles from leftover remnants. By the way, have you met my handsome head vase, Leonardo?

This pressed leaf art is a unique way to preserve and display autumn foliage. (Gathered in Colorado last fall--not Texas!)
