Happy Monday, Friends! When do you decorate for fall? It's been a long, hot summer in Texas. Today I'm sharing my first autumnal accents with a seasonal mantel featuring handmade velvet pumpkins and vintage milk glass...
Since I spent more time indoors than usual due to the extreme heat this summer, I got a jump start on crafting more velvet pumpkins for my collection. I decided to highlight my handmade creations and challenged myself not to buy anything new, shopping my home instead.
Y'all know I love vintage linens so I used a basket to layer a lace runner and a pretty round placemat I scored from Target's dollar spot several years ago. I love the cozy backdrop it sets for the mantel!
I dressed up my velvet pumpkins with twiggy stems and faux flowers.
I arranged them on a vintage milk glass cake stand and candle sticks and added fresh lamb's ear from my garden.
I'm partial to nontraditional fall decor preferring softer hues.
Here's a closer peek at my lacy repurposed basket sign...
...adorned with fresh lamb's ear.
Here, you can see a view from the dining room chandy!
A handmade scented candle adds warm autumn vibes.
HONORED TO BE FEATURED HERE:
Beautiful pumpkins, Cecilia. I love the pretty floral embellishment!
ReplyDeleteLovely. The flowing runner made me think of an overflowing cornucopia.Although I like typical fall colors, I have always enjoyed the softer pastel colors in your living/dining rooms. I think I just need several more houses! I have never used my MG with my pumpkins before. Wish I had a space for a wide mantel in my living room! What a great focal point! Top of the entertainment center is just not the same!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty, romantic look! xo Kathleen
