Happy Monday, Friends! Do you decorate your bedroom for the holidays? I tend to alternate, decorating the room more some seasons than others. This year I really got in the spirit and today I'm sharing 3 simple ways I created cozy Christmas vibes...
1. Layer Different Cozy Textures
To cozy up the room for the winter months, I splurged on a pair of gray velvet curtains I scored for less than $20 during the Black Friday sales. On my bed and vintage chaise, I layered velvet pillows, comfy throws, and a chenille blanket with light-weight ruffled bedding.
You can see the contrast between the lighted bedroom at night, above and how the room looks in daylight, below. Stay tuned--I'll be sharing how I made the DIY tassel throw soon!
2. Make it Festive
This year I brought the largest of my slender trees to my bedroom and I have been enjoying it so much!
If you don't have a tree in the room, you can hang simple festive accents like velvet ribbon and vintage and handmade ornaments in the windows. {See how to make this vintage hankie ornament, here!} Even simple brown boxes look festive with velvet, lace, or greenery as trimming.
3. Add Soft Lighting
There are so many alternatives for adding soft lighting to the room: lighted garland, twinkling lights on the tree, small chandeliers, or battery-operated LED lights in a lantern.

Oh my goodness what an absolutely beautiful bedroom Cecilia--I love all your cozy touches (and pink is my favorite color!). Hope your holidays are blessed :)
ReplyDeleteCecilia, this is such a romantic room. I love the crushed velvet pink pillows with your new grey curtains. The plate as a tree topper is different. How did you get it to stay up?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to another year of pretty inspiration when the FWF party starts up again this Friday, January 7th.
Hope to see you there!
Happy New Year!
