Greetings, Friends! Today's Fridays at Home feature is a whimsical plant stand I repurposed from a store display shelf that Favorite Son brought me from a job site. The colorful shelf is right at home in my backdoor garden and it's always fun to style a free project...

When Favorite Son's boss asked if he wanted this cute Cupcake Vineyards store display shelf, he immediately responded, "No, but my mom will!" When he brought it over to the house, he said, "I knew you would find something to do with it." The boy knows me well!

The sturdy shelf inspires a lot of possibilities, but for now I decided to repurpose it as a plant stand. I placed it in the corner of the small garden near my backdoor where it complements the pops of yellow and blue in the sitting area by the outdoor gallery wall.

It also has a hook that is perfect for hanging herb bundles.

It receives dappled sunlight a good portion of the day. No makeovers were needed for this "sweet treat"--I simply wiped it down with disinfectant before styling it. It's a bit early here to get fall mums for the garden, but did you notice how I paired fresh plants with last week's faux succulent finds?

Until next time, stay safe and healthy!

That’s my favorite wine. We went to a wine tasting at Cupcake Vineyards after we went to tour the Mondavi Vineyard. Love their wine!

What a great gift (and great son!) xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteHow thoughtful of your son! It's styled perfectly with your blues and yellows! I can imagine you repainting the signage with chalkboard paint and/or a stencil later. I ask my SO if there was anything good at the dump; I am looking for screens for my daughter to use in herb/flower drying. Nope! We did score a box of curbside lumber scraps last week--I was thinking kindling; I've used 2 so far for signs!
