Garden Lover's Patriotic Tablescape Featuring Gingham and Dots

Happy Friday, Friends and welcome to the Patriotic Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe, at Celebrate and Decorate!  For my patriotic tablescape I'm featuring red, white, and blue gardening accents, gingham, and dots...

I started by layering a blue gingham tablecloth and a birds and blooms runner. I added vintage napkins with a fruit pattern and dollar store garden gloves as flatware pockets.

I paired blue enamelware chargers with red dot plates. Ginger Grand is coming for his annual summer visit soon, which inspired novelty snacks like Cracker Jacks, red cream soda...

...and of course, my garden lover's table needs some "Red Vines!"

Isn't this little patriotic bird, sweet?

Blue bottle vases, an old rake...

...and thrifted paper lanterns pop against the garden greenery. "Let Freedom Ring!"

  2. Adorably welcoming and such a great patriotic theme built around the garden, Cecilia! That little bird as master of ceremonies is really cute, as are all the little vintage touches, including the nibbles. I so appreciate your vintage garden take on a patriotic table! Enjoy your visit with your Ginger Grand! :)

  3. The little bird in his top hat is so cute. Your garden setting is so cozy. I love how you paired the vintage soda bottles, Cracker jacks and red vines! I would enjoy sitting and chatting in this warm setting for hours. It makes me think of summers at the lake.

  4. Cecilia, your patriotic garden table with polka dots, checks, and florals is adorable. Love the patriotic little bird and sweet gardening gloves holding the flatware. Those vintage napkins have so much personality!

  7. Cecilia, how pleasant to sit in your garden among the red, white and blue table, chairs and adornments. I fell in love with the little bird dressed in his Patriotic best. I like the use of the galvanized watering can, white enamel cup with cherries on the side and the blue garden gloves use. (I would much rather use those gloves as a flatware holder than to weed my garden). LOL
Thank you for your inspirational elements....have a happy 4th of July

  9. Loved all the red/white/blue--summer worthy, not just Fourth of July! Ginger Grand will just SO LOVE the fact that so much blue is involved in your awesome setting! I used to think cream soda was such a treat as we only got it when we went to visit grandparents in Mass; NH didn't seem to have it back then! I hope you get him involved in something blogworthy, too! Is he a thrifter/flea marketer yet?

  11. Super cute! I always adore your outdoor posts so much! I love the bright blue and all the fun accents, especially the creative gardening gloves-flatware pockets.

I was wondering about the brick patio. Is it a patio set in sand or concrete, or just bricks laid out to form a place for a patio in the yard? I really would like to just put some bricks out in the yard to create a small patio-like setting without having to do any digging or using sand and I was wondering if you had done the same. Either way, your little space looks so charming. I am always crushing on your rosemary!

So fun hopping with you as always! Have a Happy Fourth of July!

  13. What an adorable table! I love gingham, but paired with floral is even better! Using the garden glove to hold the flatware is such a fun idea, and the cracker jack box and soda bottle are perfect touches! Always a pleasure sharing in this blog hop with you!

  15. Is it okay to call your sweet tablescape adorable? Because it surely is, Also the flatware in the garden gloves...I did that too, one summer I had the grandchildren over and after playing ( this was a few years ago) we had refreshments, cupcakes and ice cream and I put their napkins and flatware in their very own pair of garden gloves. You know what they say, "great minds think alike". Needless to say... I love everything about your dweet table and the little patriotic bird is the cherry on the cake. It's a pleasure to be on the hop with you. Hugs! (

  16. Cecilia, you had me at gingham and dots. And I love the beautiful blue tablecloth, too. The little patriotic bird is such a great find. Using the polka~dot garden gloves for holding the silverware is one of the cutest things I've seen. Love the blue bottles too. Such a pretty table.
