If you've hopped over after visiting Carol at Art and Sand, I'm sure you enjoyed the cozy winter accents at her charming seaside cottage. Today I'm sharing my winter white mantel and gallery wall which were inspired by a few Christmas clearance bargains.

When I shop holiday clearance, I always keep my eye out for items that can be used during the winter months and even Valentine's Day. Both the pom-pom garland and this lovely white floral wreath were marked down 75% off with the Christmas decor!

I usually keep the basic arrangement of my dining room gallery wall pretty consistent...

...simply rearranging my vintage upcycled thrift store frames, and occasionally adding seasonal accents. This handmade doily is a new addition for the winter months.

Here's a side view of the mantel. The mercury glass pieces I've displayed were holiday clearance finds from previous years. I love the sparkle of mercury glass during the winter months.

Yet another clearance find--this fuzzy little bird was originally an ornament.

Baby's breath is another winter favorite. While I'm not blessed to have the abundant floral selection of a Trader Joe's nearby, I can almost always find baby's breath at my local grocery store. My mercury glass "vase" is actually a repurposed candle holder.

I also tucked some shorter sprigs of baby's breath into the greenery. There's something about the combination of neutrals and greenery that I find very soothing.

  7. Loved your gallery wall, as usual. I was fortunate enough to hit 2 Big Lots this past week; Christmas was 75% and 90% off. Got 7 boxes of Edison lights (75% off) for my daughter's Oct. wedding for the tent! Lots of goodies to craft with for next Christmas. I always look for red (Valentine's) and green (St. Patrick's Day) stuff as well as neutral wrapping paper to use all year long, too!

  8. I love all the fresh white against your gray walls, Cecilia, along with the silvery sage green; so soothing and calm. You got me thinking...I've got some white and baby blue ball fringe yardage somewhere...I need to use that somewhere for winter decor! Always enjoy hopping with you and comparing our vintage treasures!

  9. Your mantel looks so pretty for winter. After seeing how pretty your Baby's Breath looks, I'm inspired to get some to perk up my home this winter. I also don't have a Trader Joe's. Boo!

  10. Cecilia, I usually go out after Christmas looking for great sales, but not this year. I really love your furry bird, wreath and your baby's breath. It's so cold here, I won't even go to Trader Joe's for flowers until it warms up more. I'm afraid the walk from the store to my car might do them in.
