Happy Tuesday, Friends and welcome to the Bountiful Baskets Blog Hop! Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home is hosting, and I must say I love her idea of showcasing simple baskets as home and garden decor. If you hopped over from Petite Haus, I know you were inspired by Angelina's charming ideas. Now, I'm sure you won't be surprised that my baskets are all thrift store and yard sale finds. Today I'll show you some of my favorite thrifty upcycled baskets plus how I use several from my collection to transition from fall to the holidays...
First, a small vintage basket is filled with purple asters for fall and transitions for Christmas by switching the asters to amaryllis and adding a chalkboard card greeting.
Next, are a few of my favorite thrifty basket upcycles. {You can see how I upcycled this Farmhouse Fabulous basket, here!}
This vintage picnic basket is another favorite, as are asters and mini pumpkins for fall...
...and amaryllis and greenery for the holidays. {Check out my Yard Sale Picnic Basket Upcycle, here!}
This wire basket is the perfect size for displaying pieces from my collections of vintage dishes in the kitchen. For fall, I filled it with acorns. leaves and herbs, displaying Cunningham and Pickett Wheat Spray dishes.
To transition for the holidays, I switched the acorns for eucalyptus, and replaced the Wheat Spray dishes with Termocrisa Holly Berry and jadeite. Termocrisa is milk glass that was manufactured in Mexico by Fire King.
A moss covered basket creates an instant centerpiece by adding fresh sunflowers for fall or faux floral accents for the holidays through winter. You may notice that I usually add whimsical figurines to my basket vignettes like the little deer above...
Last but not least, I love adding bountiful baskets to my vintage garden bike, on both the front...
...and the back!
Next on the hop, is Rita, from Panoply--prepare to be inspired! You can find the links to the other blogs below. Enjoy!
I'm personally a big fan of mythriftstoreaddiction blog. Thanks for sharing this post.
ReplyDeleteLovely baskets. They look so cute with the apples.
ReplyDeleteOh that oval wicker basket has captured my heart Cecilia! I love your wee squirrel too. Such a happy tour!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute ideas for fall baskets. Love the bicycle idea!
ReplyDeleteI need to go thrifting with you - what totally cool baskets you have found.
ReplyDeleteYou have reminded me that I love purple asters, but I didn't see any this year. I love how you have used them in your baskets. The vintage wheat dishes pattern you have is new me and I love them! I am also crazy about the kitschy Christmas vignette with jadite! Now you have gotten me just a wee bit excited for the holidays too!
ReplyDeleteI love how you have decorated your bicycle for the season. Lot's of creative ideas here. Thanks for hopping with us!
oooh, moss covered baskets, love them!
ReplyDeleteLove.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many pretty baskets in this post and gosh your flowers are all gorgeous too! It's always fun to see how people decorate their bicycles. We have a bike parade every Christmas Eve when I'm home and it's so much fun. I love how you decorated yours. Hugs, CoCo
ReplyDeleteLove all your baskets; I use mine for all kinds of stuff--including half finished projects--they look so much better "artfully arranged" instead of stuffed in another plastic bag--also reminds me to work on them! Your purple asters are my birth month flower (Sept.) so I especailly enjoyed them! I can't get them to winter over in Maine!
ReplyDeleteYour amaryllis are so lovely. One of my favorite flowers and I love how they look in the basket. Great ideas!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful fall baskets! Thanks for all the inspo! So fun to join you on this hop.
ReplyDeleteYou always have such beautiful inspiration! I love what you have done with all of your fabulous baskets!
ReplyDeleteCecilia, I really love how you've shown the fall seasonal use AND the transitional adjustments to continue enjoying your baskets through the holidays. The wire basket with dishes (of course!) and seasonal items are my favorite styles, but they're all inspiring. It's always fun to see your vintage finds with your creative twists.
ReplyDeleteOh I really enjoyed all of your beautiful basket vignettes. What fun tour, and such a please to be part of the group.
ReplyDeleteCecilia! I love all your gorgeous baskets! I especially love the bicycle basket - it's just too adorable! And those purple flowers!!! So happy to be hopping with you!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your baskets. My favorite is the bike basket though! I love baskets on bikes and love how you styled it!
ReplyDeleteAll adorable. Pinned my fave is the 1st one with the sign and the bike
