Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Who else believes in thrifting providence? Seriously, I am thankful for providence in all areas of my life, and I believe God cares about even little details in our lives--like thrifting! So...when I had already made the rounds at one of my favorite local haunts, and was walking toward the register, I felt like I was in just the right place, at just the right time, when I came across a set of gorgeous green transferware...
You see, the set wasn't in any of the usual places where the dishes are usually kept, which is why I almost passed it. I felt as if God set them aside especially for me, because it just so happens that today is my birthday! Plus, after selling a vintage dish set this week, I freed up the cabinet space where they had been stored--providence!
This dishaholic loves transferware, but I've never seen this pattern before--isn't it lovely?
Here's a peek at the backstamp: Enoch Wedgwood, made in England, Kent pattern. I learned they were manufactured in the 1960s.
I think the combination of colors is so pretty!
Would you believe I scored 4 dinner plates, 4 salad plates, a bread plate and a bowl for $7.00? Stay tuned--you'll be seeing more of these soon!
Until next time, happy hunting!
What a lovely pattern, I've not seen that one before either! What a bargain!!
ReplyDeleteOh WOW ... lucky you. Love the color and the pattern. You find such great stuff. Hope you have a great birthday.

Cecilia! How gorgeous, and such a fabulous price! Happy Birthday, sweet lady. You deserved that thrifting providence. God wink is another phrase I like to use for moments like that. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors! The patter is lovely too. Great find!
ReplyDeleteWell happy Birthday girl
ReplyDeleteyour dishes are wonderful and what a fabulous price wow
Lovely pattern; great find; can't wait to see how you use it wiath other dishes and linens you already have. I call it coincidence; when God does a miracle and decides to remain anonymous. The miracle is not that God brings hummers to my feeders in the summer. The miracle is that I stop my busy-ness and look for them! Happy, Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI"ve never really cared a lot for transferware but this one is really pretty! Great find!
ReplyDeleteSuch a unique pattern and color combo, love it! The price can't be beat. xo Kathleen
ReplyDeletePrecioso, patrón y color. Besos y feliz fin de semana!!!
ReplyDeleteI love those plates. I love green and I am almost as bad about collecting dishes as you are. For that price, I could not have passed them up.
