A Very Vintage Christmas in the Gazebo

Hi there, Friends! If you are new here, visiting from the Christmas Porch Tour, welcome! This is my first year to participate and I look forward to seeing lots of outdoor Christmas inspiration. There will be links at the end of the post so you can tour more festive Christmas porches that are decked out for the holidays! Since I don't really have a porch, I like to create seasonal retreats in my garden gazebo. Take a little stroll with me for a very vintage Christmas in the gazebo...

On the way, we can stop for a cup of hot cocoa!

I've set up a retro cocoa bar using a pair of thrifted vintage thermoses. One to keep the cocoa nice and warm and the other can store coffee or hot water for tea or in case more cocoa is needed. {Looking for a vintage thermos? Check here!}

On the French bottle drying rack, there's a selection of vintage Christmas mugs.

Mitten covered spoons rest on jolly snowman napkins, purchased at an estate sale. I prefer my hot cocoa with whipped cream. While we're at it, let's add sprinkles too!

The jadeite vase holds test tubes of instant cocoa and mini marshmallows that can be used as stocking stuffers or hostess gifts. {See my vintage jadeite collection, here!

An upcycled yard sale lunch box can store anything from beverage condiments or cookies and napkins, to an assortment of herbal teas. The cozy mittens are another thrift store find.

Grab your hot beverage and let's head out to the gazebo...

...or if there's more of our unseasonably warm Texas weather, you may prefer a glass of bubbly! My upcycled vintage wicker sofa has been decked out with festive holiday pillows and vintage linens. Shams for the larger pillows were created from a damaged vintage tablecloth. {You can find more vintage Christmas linens, here!

Above the sofa hangs a handmade rosemary garland crafted with Secret Garden Herbs, and twinkling with lights.

  2. Boy would I like to be out there!! Haha- my gazebo has to be stripped bare for the winter here :( Love the vintage linens and your whole cocoa bar set up. I have the holly berry dish set (can't remember the name but I know it was made in Mexico) that matches your mug on the tree. I love the idea of using that drying rack to hold cups. Well done!

  5. Love it all! I am on a mission today to buy as many Christmas pillows as I can to decorate my window seat in my parlor. Your couch has confirmed the desire for that look!

  6. Beautiful...but what caught my eye was the cloth you had on your couch. I have the same one. It is a table cloth and it was my mothers, I still use it during the holidays!

  9. I love your gazebo, Cecelia. I bet you spend lots of time there. I'm so glad you were able to participate in the porch tour this year. I wish I could visit all these spaces in person.

    Oh, and don't be surprised if I buy your vintage Thermos lunch tote. I clicked over and put it in my cart. Gonna do a little more shopping in your store before I click "buy."

  14. What a fantastic round-up of simply perfect retro Christmas finds! I so wish I could furnish a true gazebo at this time of year - no way unless it's an enclosed and heated sun porch! Enjoy the warmth, trust me it's better than freezing but I'm sure you already know that:) Wish we lived closer so that we could celebrate together! I'd be up for the bubbly! xo Kathleen|Our Hopeful Home

  24. Love your alternative use of vintage linens. Have made pillows from table runners (envelope style) and gift bags from a wounded tablecloth. I love the old truck/tree and Elf pillows! This week's find was a STRING of vintage elf head lights for $2.99! I saw a Jadeite (repro) butter dish at Christmas Tree Shop for 3.99 and thot of you!
