Friday's Find #206

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! You know that feeling you get when you head to your favorite thrift store and you spy something tucked away that seems to be waiting just for you? Of course you do! Well, then you know how I felt when I scored this large vintage chalkboard for $1...

Yep, $1! It reminds me of an old school chalkboard and you'll be seeing it again soon ;) Next, I headed to an estate sale where I found this 1948 Scrabble game board. It's in great condition and I've seen the boards used for retro decor and even mixed media crafting. Available

At the same sale, I scored this vintage enamelware tray. It cost me a whole dime! Isn't it perfect?

The last two items are yard sale finds. I love this chalkboard container just as it is--no makeover needed!

Last but not least, a gorgeous round teak tray. It's quite deep and I have the perfect project in mind. Stay tuned--I'll be sharing it Sunday!

  3. Love your finds this week! I picked up a large chalkboard for a $1 too, awhile ago and I just picked up a 1948 Scrabble game with all the tiles and stands. Both are keepers for awhile!

  4. Great finds Cecilia! Looked at your Etsy shop too...looks like you're coming along selling those various things you've showed us before. If that enamel ware tray is as big as I think it is, I have one exactly like it. It came out of my dad's medical office, so good chance yours did too. Love the Scrabble board! I'm going to take a look at the dates on some of mine! Great find on the chalkboard too!

  10. Hey, wait a minute--that Scrabble board looks like the one I grew up with. Oh, yeah, that would make it vintage, huh? Your tray looks like it could use a short, squat base under it--like a pillar candle holder?!? I love my Howards Restor-a-finish on anything wood--it covers a multitude of sins (small nicks and scratches) and leaves a nice low gloss shine. Will look forward to seeing what you do with it.The enamel tray would make a great tablescape base.
