Road Trip to Round Top and Warrenton

Happy Wednesday, Friends! It's Texas Antique Week in the Round Top/Warrenton area. I went early with my friend Carly and I'll be sharing our adventures, finds and favorite stomping grounds from the trip in my next few posts. Exactly one week ago, we headed out bright and early...

...for our adventure. Carly had never been before and with a previous trip on opening day under my belt, I learned a few things. Most importantly, I learned where I wanted to shop and when I wanted to go. When I discovered that almost all of the vendors open at least a week prior to the official shopping week, I decided that is when I would like to go, so off we went. We made good time, arrived around lunch time and ate at Royers Cafe which is an experience in itself! As expected, it was crowded, but we were seated right away (family style) and received great service and even better food. I'll be sharing more about it and the delicious pie they serve, on Sunday.

Now we were fueled for shopping--and did we shop! It was h-o-t but we were armed with water bottles and sunscreen and we were in the zone. I took lots of photos so you could browse with us. There are a variety of tented displays and displays outside of shops like this one:

I would love this old stove in my vintage kitchen.

 Isn't this copper collection fabulous?

These heavenly doors featuring French script were absolutely gorgeous.

I adore the fabric on this ottoman.

Isn't this such a sweet expression?  It reminds me of Ginger Grand.

The Texas Rose Show is located directly across from Marburger Farm. It's small, but was one of our favorites. On Thursday, we ate lunch at the Texas Rose Cafe.

The rosemary chicken salad was some of the best I've ever had!

Also at The Texas Rose, this cute vintage camper is where Pamela B Designs sells her lovely handmade jewelry. On Friday, I'll be sharing what I found here along with the rest of my finds.

A few of our other favorite venues were Blue Hills and Cole's Antiques. Drop by Friday to see all of our fabulous finds. Then on Sunday, I'll be sharing our visit to Junk Gypsy and Royers Cafe. Before I go, I'd like to send a special shout out to Carly's dad, Mr. C who was kind enough to share his hotel points with us for our room Wednesday night!

  14. I'm so glad you did this post Cecilia, thank you! If I ever do go (and someday I will!), I want to be sure and read sound advice like you're offering. This venue has almost gotten too big for its britches - so, so many vendors. I don't see how any novice could ever hope to make headway without someone else trailblazing. I look forward to your upcoming posts (and what you found!).

  16. So fun Cecilia. I hope to make it there some day. I love the ottoman, and French script windows. I have an old stove like that in my garden. It's certainly not in that good of shape. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
