A Thrift Store Christmas Tree Farm

Greetings Friends! If you've been here before, you may have noticed my affection for signs.  I have an assortment in my home and garden. When I found this fun vintage inspired beauty, it was love at first sight.  It wasn't until I was working on another project that an idea began to form...

Have you ever found yourself in the midst of a project, when the panicked thought occurs, "Where am I going to put this?" Or am I the only one?  True confession--if I'm not careful, my passion to recreate can over power basic common sense! Such was the case when I recently upcycled some recent thrift store finds.  Though I hadn't originally planned to group the three trees together, as I surveyed the room my eyes landed on the tree farm sign and I had an ahh-hah moment.  Hence my thrifted Christmas tree farm grew--right on top of my china hutch.

For whimsy, I added a tree laden sled ornament from last year's holiday clearance.

As a finishing touch, I filled in with a few more trees--also last season's Christmas clearance.

Did you notice my tulle snow?  It's actually garland I just draped around the trees and I'll be sharing how I made it soon!

In case you missed my original announcement, I'll be joining Jann from Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson for the annual Creating Christmas party, the first week of December.  It should be just the ticket to usher in the holiday spirit with a great line up of talented bloggers participating, so I hope you'll plan to attend ~ I'll be posting several reminders!

  4. Perfect arrangement of your repurposed trees with that cute sign and sleigh. The tulle garland does look like fluffy snow. Great job. I think most of my Christmas decor this year will be trees and snowmen. Getting inspired to decorate.
