Happy Wednesday Friends! Today we are hopping back to a previous Easter post. Early morning is my favorite time in the garden and I am often reminded of Mary's discovery so long ago...
"He is not here; He is risen!" Luke 24:6 |
This is a fun, celebratory project you can make with your kids. I immediately thought of Ginger Grand who always wants me to "take" him into the garden when we are talking on Face Time. Even though he wasn't here to decorate the tree with me, I chose symbols of new life with him in mind: eggs, doves and butterflies. I couldn't wait to see his reaction and was delighted to hear him exclaim, "You did it!" Just as I imagined, the butterflies were his favorite!
These plastic eggs were a $1 at the thrift store and just needed a fresh coat of robin's egg blue. Lowe's has some great spring shades especially for outdoors.
While the eggs were drying, I added a cross, sign and dove ornaments that I already had. I am a big believer in using what I have first and then adding to it. I like to use fishing line for hanging--it's sturdy and almost invisible, giving items the appearance of floating. Last, I added butterflies from the craft section at the dollar store and finally the eggs. Here you can see the completed tree. I love that I can see it each morning from my bedroom window.

MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING FOR FEATURING THIS POST:
Cecilia ... really love your Resurrection tree and the thought behind it. Adding the dove and the butterfly gives it a special look.

What a great idea. Love the cross and sign. I like to think of Mary going early to the tomb and how she was the first one to see the risen Lord!
