Happy Wednesday Friends! When I was at an estate sale recently, I came across these tea infusers--one quite old and the other shiny new. I couldn't help but notice their resemblance to acorns and so an idea began to brew...
![How to create a whimsical acorn door hanger with a painted tea infuser, vintage sheet music and burlap! mythriftstoreaddiction.blogspot.com Repurposed Tea Infuser Acorn Door Hanger](https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B5ZrRnt7sqM/VA9-3bBWyzI/AAAAAAAAUts/dOWCNhFytFU/s1600/teainfusercollage.jpg)
I found the string of wooden leaves at a thrift store and decided to give them the same Vintage sheet music technique I did here. I painted the tea infusers in soft muted shades with craft paint I had on hand.
I attached them all to a piece of jute ribbon and topped with a bow.
I hung my thrifty recreated acorn and leaf creation on the backdoor in my kitchen. Do you enjoy repurposing ordinary household items?

very creative!
ReplyDeletehi Cecilia ... This is a clever idea and turned out really cute. I had a large collection of infusers and gave them to my daughter. Will send her your link as she was looking for something for her kitchen wreath.

Maybe it's a sickness ...but yes! I'm always thinking about how to change something up. I love your new acorn hanger. Tea infusers do look like acorns ...so creative :-)
ReplyDeleteCecilia, that is so stinking cute!
ReplyDeleteI see the acorn shape, too! Cute idea. :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute Cecilia! I have one like the old one. What a creative idea! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
