Greetings Friends! I hope you are having a relaxing weekend. Today I am sharing a delicious and healthier recipe perfect for breakfast, brunch or brinner--my signature Secret Garden lavender french toast!
My recipe uses culinary lavender in place of vanilla, almond milk and multigrain bread. I use one egg, one cup of almond milk and one teaspoon of lavender per four slices of bread. I beat the egg, add the milk and then rub the lavender between my palms before adding it to the mixture. Before dipping the bread, I melt a tablespoon of butter on the griddle. As it melts, I lightly dip the bread on both sides before placing it on the griddle. If you look closely, you can see tiny lavender buds on the bread. I allow each side to get golden brown.
Enjoy!

YUM ... looks so good. Pretty presentation too. I used to make French toast, but not in a long time. I don't think my lavender looks good enough to eat !
