Greetings Friends! Autumn is approaching, and it's time for a seasonal update to my mantel. As a passionate gardener, I love using nature in decor to bring the outdoors inside whenever possible. I've paired my thrifted Vintage finds with various botanics to create a festive, yet soothing vignette.
I started with one of my burlap runners from Target's holiday clearance a few years ago. Next, I arranged my Vintage milk glass, collected from yard sales and thrift stores. I wanted to keep a neutral palette so the rich hues of the natural elements would be the focus. I added metal leaf garland that I have had for ages and a berry candle wreath, both sprayed white. Vintage books add some needed height to the left end, pictured above. The herbs are from my garden--rosemary to the left and purple basil shown below on the right. The large acorns I picked up from a walk and the tiny ones are actually from a craft store--who knew?
Here's a complete view...
Do you shop your produce section? Most of us don't grow wheat and pumpkins and the apples and sunflowers are also from the grocery store. As I've mentioned before, I enjoy playing and taking my time with my displays. I planned to use herbs, white pumpkins, and green apples so after arranging all of my whites, I stood back to consider what else I would add to my Vintage vessels before making a trip to the grocery store the next day. When I saw the wheat and sunflowers, I knew they would be perfect! Tablescapes are coming soon :) Do you enjoy decorating for Fall?

ReplyDeleteVery pretty Cecilia ... love the balance ... the colors with the white and of course, the beautiful wall color makes the white really pop. Makes me want to go take everything off my mantel and put up some Fall stuff. I love the Harvest theme.
