Take Me to the Beach Tablescape!

Greetings Friends, hope you have had a restful weekend! If not, maybe you will find today's post soothing.  Take me to the Beach! is my latest tablescape.  Since my color palette reflects ocean and driftwood hues, I thoroughly enjoyed this project. Drawing from my source of inspiration, I took a relaxed approach and allowed several days to arrange, rearrange and just play with it!  As usual, I am setting my table with a collection of thrifted treasures...

A few years ago, I gave my dining table a makeover, taking it from a then popular Pottery Barn black look to a driftwood inspired finish.  I have absolutely loved the transformation and ever since I have been lightening up the colors in my home. There is delightful little store in a neighboring city that I am completely smitten by.  I  venture there every so often and love to take visiting friends. The first time I went, they had me at the porch! It is filled with an assortment of Vintage treasures as you enter the shop which is nestled in an old house. Each room is styled cuter than the last and full of whimsical beauty. Unlike so many charming little shops in the area, they actually have great prices--enter my lovely table runner and napkins!

The large conch shell in the center is actually from a yard sale and you know how I love using my handy dandy scrabble tiles to create occasional messages.  I adore Vintage jewelry but am more likely to decorate with it, than wear it!  I picked up a pair of lovely aquamarine earrings at a recent estate sale.  One sparkles here among the faux pearls spilling out of the conch. (I'm saving the other for a special appearance soon.) The sea gull photo clip was a clearance find at Hobby Lobby. The photos are from my last vacation in Seaside while the small thrifted hurricanes hold real smuggled beach sand :)

You may remember my divine gray Fire-King from a previous Friday's Find and of course, my sweet doily bargain chargers from Michaels. Here you see a closer look at the aqua napkins which I actually layered with my Vintage thrifted whites.  I've shared my burlap flatware pockets before-- best Etsy find e-v-e-r!  I alternated white starfish and shells on top as a finishing touch.

A better look at the complete table.  The lovely turquoise goblets are from....drum roll......

Big Lots! Surprised?  I was!  A peek at the shell place setting....

I like to layer runners--here I placed turquoise burlap on each side across the main runner.

  5. I love your beautiful tablescape! I took my kids for a day trip to the beach last week. I'd rather be at your table! In the the air-conditioning! It was so sticky and hot! And my umbrella broke! It is a pretty place though. I really love that you did the whole tablesscape thrifty! Have a great week :-)

  8. Very pretty, I love the beach colors. I am eying up the burlap flatware holders too. The burlap goes beautifully with the driftwood colors and the aquas. They also look like they would be fun to make.

  14. Hi, Cecilia! Oh, I am in love with anything with a beach/nautical look! So, of course your tablescape totally caught my eye!! I like how you got creative with the burlap silverware pocket. (Seems like burlap is so popular in decorating, lately.) Thanks for sharing.
