Happy Wednesday Friends! It's getting H-O-T out there, so today I am sharing some delicious drinks guaranteed to cool you down. They are yummy and healthy--each contains at least one Superfood. I have selected a few of my favorites that you may not have tried before....
First, my watermelon mint frozen slush: I combine 1 cup of chopped watermelon, 1/2 cup of ice and 2 mint sprigs and blend lightly. I use a generic Magic Bullet for a single serving but you can always adjust your recipe for multiple servings. I garnish each featured drink with an extra sprig of mint-- it is so refreshing!
I'm asking you to keep an open mind about our next drink: Jasmine green tea . I was not a fan of green tea until I discovered the Jasmine variety. I have read that drinking green tea is actually healthier than drinking water! Even skeptics who usually don't like green tea like mine served iced. It doesn't even need to be sweetened....Really--try it, you might just be surprised!
Our next featured beverage is this creamy blueberry pineapple smoothie. I combine 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup frozen pineapple and 1/4 cup of fresh blueberries and blend lightly. Garnish with a smidge of whip cream. Again, this is a single serving recipe, so adjust accordingly to your preference.
Last, but not least: my "Not Your Momma's lemonade". No disrespect to the other Mommas, but this one has a secret ingredient and it is not loaded with sugar. Lovely lavender gives this summer favorite that something extra special flavor. You will want to make this by the pitcher!
Combine: 4 cups of water, 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice and lavender simple syrup.
Lavender simple syrup: Combine 2 tbsps organic culinary lavender and 1/2 cup Monk fruit in the raw and seep in 2 cups of boiling water for an hour. Strain before adding to lemonade mixture. The syrup can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge. Enjoy!
