Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! The only thing better than an estate sale is an estate sale just across the street from your house! Today I'm sharing several vintage treasures I scored for only $5...
There were SO many cars on the first day of the sale, I figured customers would likely be standing elbow-to-elbow. I decided to wait until Saturday in hopes of browsing among fewer people and possibly scoring half-price treasures. It turned out to be a good call--just as I'd hoped there were much less people and prices were marked half off for the second day of the sale!
When I first spied the wooden piece above, I carefully removed it from the bottom of a large stack of odds and ends in the pantry. Thinking it was a small tray, I was drawn to the wood patina and high rimmed edge. It was only when I flipped it over that I saw it was originally part of a vintage promotional Pyrex casserole dish. Although the Pyrex was nowhere to be seen, I already had a plan for the pretty base.
I adore mini enamelware teapots and the green is perfect in my kitchen! Y'all know I love these mini crocheted doilies and feature them often in home decor projects.
Until next time, stay healthy and happy hunting!
Love the doilies! There’s nothing more fulfilling than hitting a really great estate sales or yard sale. You cannot beat the prices. I’m headed to an estate sale this afternoon. I’m in Richardson, TX.
ReplyDeleteYou always find the best pieces!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your treasures. I ALWAYS buy small doilies like that as they make the most beautiful dollhouse tablecloths. If you could see me spray starching and ironing the little Irish rose motif petals to stand up, you would laugh out loud!
ReplyDeletethat little teapot will be perfect at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI love the old Pyrex pieces. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
