Happy Tuesday, Friends! It's always a delight to join the Bloggers Best Summer Home Tour hosted by my sweet friend Kelly from The Tattered Pew. Each day this week, several bloggers will share their summer home inspiration. If you've have had it with inflation, check out these thrifty summer decor ideas...
Are you hopping over after visiting White Lilac Farmhouse? Welcome! Wasn't Tammy's summer decor lovely? Whether it's at the gas pump or the grocery store, signs of inflation seem to be everywhere, but that doesn't have to stop you from enjoying a beautifully styled home! I hope you'll enjoy these simple budget-friendly ideas including my tips that won't cost a penny!
Shop Your Home First to Set a Sensational Summer Table
One of my go-to tips for any season is to shop my home first. What do you have tucked in a cabinet or closet that's just waiting to be styled differently for a new season? As you read this post, keep in mind that I'm sharing the costs of "new" accents--the rest is from my home and thrifted collections. Last week, I shared my Honeysuckle and Hydrangeas summer tablescape featuring fresh blooms...
...and place settings pairing vintage and clearance plate stacks. Cost: Grocery store hydrangeas $10, Easter clearance plaid plates $4, honeysuckle runner, roses, and herbs-free!
Have you noticed my Easter clearance goodies work seamlessly as summer decor? When I shop seasonal clearance, I make a point of looking for items that can be used for more than one season. I recently featured a tutorial for how to update an Easter clearance wreath for the summer months. Cost: $6
For a fresh new look, try simply hanging a favorite wreath in a different place. Cost: free!
{Tip: Use fishing line as a sturdy way to hang wreaths in unexpected places.}
My vintage blush settee was a rare thrift store find that was freshly reupholstered when I bought it. Can you believe I almost didn't buy it because I wasn't sure about the color? I purchased it before the shade became popular and I'm so glad I did! Would you be surprised to know my gray sofa was a $10 yard sale find that I chalk painted? Check out the before here! {Tip: Shop for new curtains during Amazon's Prime Day sale--I scored the 3 ombre pairs hanging on my living and dining room windows for less than $30!)
Highlight Mementos & Collections
Tweak your favorite decor accents by adding a basket of fragrant eucalyptus to a gallery wall of cherished photos...
...or arrange fresh summer flowers in collected milk glass vessels! Cost: Eucalyptus and chamomile bouquets $8 total
After using luxe velvet curtains during the holiday and winter months, I swapped them out for these pretty toile curtains I scored at a yard sale. Cost: $10.
Tip: If the curtains you love aren't wide enough for your window, pair them with sheers.
Don't wait for guests to indulge in simple pleasures--create a welcoming tray for your own bedroom and add a few of your favorite things like flowers, herbal tea, a scented candle, lotion, or chocolate mints! Cost: Trader Joe's honey mints $4

Well, my friend this might be my all-time favorite tour of yours! So many fun additions and so many great thrifty tips. Easter decor does seamlessly blend with summer. So clever! I love your colorful style and thank you for sharing your home with us! xoxo, Kelly
Cecilia, your home looks beautiful and charming! Your tablescape perfectly incorporates vintage finds to create such a pretty, festive space. Hydrangeas are my absolute favourite flower and look so pretty on your table.
You have so many beautiful vintage treasures, Cecilia! I love the cheerful color scheme you've chosen for your home because it really accentuates your gorgeous ironstone pieces. So happy to be touring with you this week! Happy summer!
You have such beautiful vintage finds. I love how you mix your new items with the old. Those dishes with the blue flowers are just lovely. Also, love how you incorporated fresh honeysuckle on your tablescape. I bet it smelled amazing.
I always love seeing your treasures and how you use them in different ways. My Polish-raised-during-the-Depression mother always swapped out curtains, quilt covers, and seat covers for the summer so I did, too. And rearranging furniture was another cheap decor change, too! I would come home from work to find that my daughter had rearranged the living room--even without her brother's help! In Maine, heavier or foam-backed drapes in the winter help as insulation and cut the snow glare, too!
Cecilia, your home looks so pretty all decked out for summer. I love the beautiful pastel colors, and your collection of white dishes is my favorite. Happy to be joining you on the tour this week. Pinned!
Oh Cecilia! So many beautiful details here my friend. It is always such a treat to see all your vintage pieces but then to add the beautiful blooms on top of it is just a dream. Honeysuckle and hydrangeas are two of my favorites. Thank you as always for your inspiration sweet friend.
As always, so many lovely vintage and thrifted items in your home, Cecelia! It was so fun to see a full view of your living area, too! I think it's the first time I've seen it! Love that tea cup! Always fun hopping with you!
I'm over inflation for sure and you've given me some excellent thrifty ideas! The bedspread and curtains area amazing and the ombre curtains - wowza that's a deal! Your home is so lively and I adore the vintage treasures. Glad we can hop together this week! Stay cool!
This may just be my favorite tablescape of yours Cecilia. I keep going back to admire the honeysuckle, hydrangeas and mini bouquets. Such a beautiful combination of colors!
I'm always so excited to see what vintage dishes you will use and how you will style your beautiful treasures! I love the egg cups with flowers and how you did your napkins!
That tablescape is so lovely and cheerful Cecilia!! So many pretty details to take in. And the honeysuckle has to smell just heavenly!! Happy to be touring with you...enjoy your summer!
You have no idea how these photos brought tears to my eyes. That vintage teacup was the pattern of a set my mom had. I remember her selling it and some of grandma's pink depression glass when family finances were tight. I did get the cake plate which recently got broken. I saved the shards to use in my artwork. I love discovering your work which bringing back such good memories. Honeysuckle still graces our table with my other garden flowers.
I absolutely love to read your thoughtful comments and enjoy responding to each one! I will respond to your comments here. You may check back to see my response or check the "notify me" box. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
Believer, herb gardener, dishaholic, lover of dark chocolate, Southern girl, and thrift store junkie. I’m passionate about finding beauty in imperfection. Join me as I hunt vintage treasures and transform thrift store finds. Check out my home and garden projects to see how easy it is to create a beautiful home without spending a lot of money!
I adore decorating and gardening but as a single parent have always needed to do both on a budget. Thrifting-- my all inclusive verb for shopping resale shops, thrift stores, estate and yard sales is not just my hobby but rather a lifestyle. It supports my habit of collecting Vintage dishes and Pyrex and over the years has proven invaluable for decorating and re-decorating. I am passionate about transforming and repurposing cast away furniture and love furnishing my home with pieces that have their own history. It has saved me more pennies than I can count and is the perfect solution to almost any dilemma. Your child comes home from school and informs you that he must dress like his favorite super hero TOMORROW? Your daughter can only wear modest knee length skirts to respect the local culture on her upcoming mission trip? Volunteer to host the next ladies event but then realize you don't own enough matching glasses? The answer to these questions and so many more: THRIFTING! Last, but certainly not least--thrifting is all about re-cycling, re-imagining and re-creating; the best way to shop green!
