Happy Thursday, Friends! It's time for the Creative Craft Blog Hop. Thank you to Donna from Modern on Monticello who will be hosting for the next few months. Today I'm sharing how to elevate a piano bench by lining it with pretty fabric...

If you hopped over after visiting Jenna at The Painted Apron, welcome! Can you believe the first time I shared this upcycled little birdie bench was way back in October of 2014? You can find the details of how I upholstered the bench seat by clicking on the colored link. Today, I'm going to show you how to line the inside of the bench in 3 easy steps!

I have been decluttering as part of my spring cleaning and after sorting through the various linens that were stored inside, I recently moved the pretty bench to the foot of my bed. Thinking it would be quite convenient for storing a few lightweight robes, I decided to line it.

I was thrilled to find scrap toile fabric in my craft stash that just needed a little measuring and trimming, and I used double-sided tape (which I much prefer to hot glue) to attach the lightweight fabric. You could use the same technique for lining drawers, too. Here's how:
- Measure the fabric
- Cut it to fit
- Attach with double-sided tape
Voila! That's all there is to it!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy visiting the rest of my creative friends below:

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Cecilia, using a piano bench to gain a little storage spot in your bedroom, and lining it really makes it luxurious! Using the fabric tape is a great idea, such a lovely and easy transformation!

Cecilia, why a nice way to finish off the inside of your piano bench - or any drawer. Love the idea of the double~sided tape. Much easier, especially if you want to change the fabric later.
ReplyDeleteLove those fabrics. The bench is so pretty! Thanks for linking up on Farmhouse Friday!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty way to jazz up the inside of the bench! I love ANY cubby that gives me a bit of storage! The double sided tape to hold cloth in place was a new idea for me, too!
