DIY mossy wreath for spring and Easter

...hosted by Andrea at Design Morsels. Welcome to those of you hopping over after visiting Terrie at Decorate and More with Tip! Ready to make your own mossy wreath?

Here's what you'll need:

Wire wreath form
Moss ribbon
Hot glue gun or preferred adhesive
Floral embellishment
Twigs*Wire*Wooden label* Sharpie marker

First: Stretch the mossy ribbon slightly to cover a portion of the wreath form. Next: Hot glue and cut ribbon pieces as needed to best fit the frame and continue to work in sections. (Stretch, glue, cut, stretch, glue, etc.)

Then: Raid your craft stash for pretty floral embellishments that complement the moss, like these small, velvety flowers and tuck them into the moss. Glue if desired--I didn't.

Last: To make this rustic cross, gather some twigs from your yard and wrap them with wire. Craft the "banner" by using a Sharpie on a small wooden label.

The resurrection message is perfect for Easter, and the twiggy cross can be tucked into the moss and removed after the holiday.

    1. Thanks, Andrea! One of the reasons I opted for using the ribbon is because the bagged moss is so messy. The ribbon sheds slightly when cut but it is barely noticeable in comparison.

I have a large wire frame and tons of moss (love that stuff) and with you tutorial can pull a wreath of my own together. Thanks for the inspiration.

  11. Cecilia, how have I never heard of moss ribbon? I need some! I love the look of moss, but not the mess. This sounds like the perfect solution! Your wreath is so pretty, and I love the minimal embellishments. The twig cross is such a clever and rustic Easter addition. It's always fun to hop with you. Happy Easter!

  14. Cecelia, I love this! Simple but not, which makes it elegant. It looks like something you'd find in a fantasy story walk in the woods. Featuring when my party opens tonight!
