How to Create Fragrant Dried Oranges for the Holidays

Happy Monday, Friends! I don't know about you, but even though the holidays may look different this year, I've decided I will create as much Christmas cheer as possible this holiday season. There is something so comforting about a naturally scented home and these fragrant dried oranges just smell like Christmas...

Ready to make your own? Start by cutting 5-6 slices per orange. (Avoid cutting them too thin to prevent burning.)

Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, placing the oranges on a separate rack on top--this prevents the oranges from sticking to the pan.

Then bake at 200 degrees for 2-2 1/1 hours, turning every 30 minutes. Allow them to cool thoroughly. Over the week, I baked several batches--a 4 lb. bag of oranges yields about 45 slices. They smell amazing!

I'll be sharing more soon about how I plan to use them with my holiday decorations, but here are a few sneak peeks...

  1. Love these, Cecilia! I haven't made them in years, but we just got a new toaster over/air fryer that also dries fruit so I was gonna give it a go again this year. Yours looks lovely. xo Kathleen

  2. I have always let mine air dry; the color of yours is so much brighter. I bet the house smells great while you are baking them, too. Will have to try it--on a cold morning when that bit of extra heat is welcome!
