Happy Saturday, Friends! Welcome to the Season of Thanks Blog Hop hosted by Amber at Follow the Yellow Brick Home! I think we can all agree that 2020 has been unpredictable and anything but traditional. In that spirit, I'm sharing a nontraditional Thanksgiving picnic today...
This summer I had so much fun styling a pallet picnic, and although Thanksgiving doesn't usually evoke thoughts of picnics--or bees--I decided to feature both in a nontraditional picnic to celebrate thankfulness. We are still having warm weather, and I can't ever remember having so many bees swarming my herbs in the fall. In addition to the buzzing pollinators, my Bee Thankful picnic was inspired by Dollar Tree dish towels that I used as napkins, bee magnets that I added to napkin rings, and this darling sign I scored for $3 on clearance at Big Lots.
Remember my stenciled chair pads? I started my picnic by pairing them with a vintage quilt.
I'm still contemplating our menu-- it will probably also be nontraditional, but I decided to use my favorite vintage jadeite to celebrate bee-ing thankful.
Instead of using a traditional picnic basket, I gathered everything on a large tray. Fresh eucalyptus, seasonal blooms, and candles add a festive vibe.
I tucked fragrant sprigs into the napkin rings too.
Here's a peek at the full picnic.

ReplyDeleteVery nice, Cecilia. Bee-ing thankful never gets old, and why not bring out the theme with your pollinator friends? I love seeing them still scamper this time of year, looking for the last little bits of pollen on flowers remaining. I love how your chair pads turned out. Definitely this will a year for the books, and I like how our blogs give us the opportunity to journal how we still celebrated in spite of all the setbacks. Still a season of thanks, for sure.
