Happy Monday, Friends! It's the time of year when I'm usually headed to Round Top for Texas Antiques Week. While I'm not making the trip this year, I do have some vintage eye candy to share today from my recent jaunt to Comfort...
Like Round Top, Fredericksburg, and Kerrville, Comfort is listed as one of the 9 Best Cities for Antique Shopping, and I'm blessed to live in such close proximity to more than half of the places listed! Earlier this month, I spent the day with Favorite Son and Darling DIL. We enjoyed lunch here in town, then headed over to a few of my favorite shops in Comfort.
You may remember our first stop, the 8th Street Market, from when The B Farm's Cecilia B. visited last fall. The vintage truck art where the kids and I posed, is on one of their outdoor buildings while the mural is on the side of the main building.

The market has its own coffee shop as well as lots of vendors and it's always a really fun place to browse. Last year Cecilia B. found some treasures for her art studio. Favorite Son works as an electrician's apprentice so he really enjoyed all of their cool repurposed lighting.
From chicken wire framed feed sacks...
...to upcycled furniture, vintage dishes, and
...cabinets, there's always an eclectic selection.
Don't you love the color and patina of this vintage dresser?
I'm smitten with this swoon-worthy pink velvet chair and silvery gray nightstands!
The outdoor buildings house an interesting assortment as well.
I'm not sure if I love the fabulous shutters or the antique fountain more--how about you?
A restored vintage glider and a rusty-crusty patio table create the perfect outdoor sitting area.
A village of gnomes who need a home. :)
Next, we headed over to Comfort Antique Mall, another one of my favorite haunts.
I saw several displays featuring vintage enamelware.
Aren't these retro chairs and table fabulous?
Another great display filled with vintage goodness!
Last but not least, can you really have too much vintage red transferware?!
What a great place to browse!
ReplyDeleteSo much wonderful stuff in your pictures but that pink chair is to die for!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! What a fun day... I want to go shopping in Comfort. Love that green Retro table and chairs. What did you bring home with you? Great picture of you, your favorite son and beautiful dil.
ReplyDeleteOh what fun! I am so jealous! But then I remember I get to go to Canton this weekend! Still loving my shelves Bruce made me from those metal grates I found last year in Comfort. What a fun outing with your son and daughter-in-law. Did you buy anything?
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cecilia
