Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! How is your June going? We celebrated Youngest Daughter's wedding in Colorado last weekend. It was a sweet time with family and I'm still gathering photos to share with you soon! This week I'm sharing a fun assortment of vintage potholders from my thrifting adventures...

There's just something about vintage potholders that add instant charm to a kitchen. Recently, I had the good fortune of finding a handmade collection that I'll be selling as several sets. First, a pretty pair featuring roses. AVAILABLE HERE!

Cork added to the back makes the bunch of grapes suitable as a trivet.

  1. How funky. The 1st pair are almost identical to onea that hung in our kitchen when I was child. Made by my mom, I crochet using yarn, but never took to the cotton thread stuff, she however made dollies and succh by thr dozens. I remember her bedspread made with crochet thread as well.

  3. These are all so sweet. I know I have a few squirreled away somewhere. The pink and green are my runaway favorites. something about that confectionery color combo I guess.
    All the best,

    2. I do need some guidance!! We only know about the two bigger places that are a mile or so left of the old Schreiners (sp?) Store on Water(?) Street. We have not been down there for a couple of years, so my old brain is drawing a blank.
Thanks for any info!!...feel free to email me :)
      Blessings,

  6. Cecilia I just love these! If I didn't have an old ironstone wash basin overflowing with those, I'd buy some more! I change mine out for the seasons, raising the colors to the top and let the other seasonal colors drop below. Just a fun thing I display in my laundry room.

  7. I loved the pink and green ones best. I had one like the 2nd row right one that had a newer trivet inserted in it. I thot maybe it was a toilet paper roll decoration. Spent forever spray starching and trying to make the loopers look symmetrical. The pink and green just seem so reminiscent of the p and g Depression glass dishes to me. Most of the ones I find are stained; they are still so cute.

    1. Thanks, Kathy. I haven't seen any of the ones I found used for TP, but I have seen the striped rectangular ones--there's a red and an orange--used as dishcloths.

  8. These are wonderful:) I remember them from my childhood. My mama was always crocheting. I finally learned "a little" after I grew up but only made a couple things then never took it up again. Wish I had stuck with it:)

    1. Thanks, Cheri! You know, my grandmother taught me to crochet as a girl and regretfully, I didn't stick with it either.
