I was so impressed with the lovely Reupholstered Bench Before and After by Kathleen from Everything Karupped. Not only did she see potential beyond some pretty dreadful stripes and breathe new life into a bench that had seen better days, Kathleen was oh-so-thrifty and just plain smart in the process! Lauren at Wonderfully Made shared her latest project, a charming Vintage Shabby Chic Bedside Table that she upcycled from a thrift store find. I just love how it turned out! Pop over to see the tutorial for her timeworn technique and the before photo of her transformation.
Kathleen’s Pick
Roxanne over at The Honeycomb Home has completed an awesome DIY project that I SO wish I had done myself! She and her husband took a vintage chippy shabby fireplace mantel and created the perfect DIY custom fireplace surround for it. Then they put it all together and installed it as a gorgeous decorative focal point in their living room--and it looks so real! I'm not kidding when I say I wish I'd done this--I already had my husband scouring Craigslist for a vintage mantel (to surprise me with at Christmas, of course!) before I even read about this one. You've got to stop over and see this beauty, as well as Roxanne's detailed instructions and tips on how to DIY it for yourself. Thank you, Roxanne!
