Happy Wednesday Friends! Today I have a thrifty little upcycle to share and yes...it can be done in 15 minutes!

I found this realistic looking faux boxwood wreath at one of the thrift stores I frequent for $3--not bad considering it still had the original tag for $55! Overall, it was in pretty good condition...

...but it did have a few bare spots. Here and

here, but easy enough to fix.

I just cut a few extra sprigs from some of the longer pieces of greenery.

and hot glued them in the bare spots. {6 minutes.}

No more bare spots!

I wanted to keep the look of classic boxwood with all of its greenery but also add just a touch of color.  By shopping my home, I came up with these pretty silk flowers.

The stems were sturdy enough that I was able to tuck the blooms into the wreath without gluing. I alternated colors, working my way around the wreath but keeping it simple. {8 minutes.}

I love the square shape and chose to hang it diagonally.  It adds a fresh touch of color for late summer, but will also transition nicely into fall, when I typically add yellow mums.

  1. So pretty!! The little pops of color are perfect. Actually on my front door is a wreath I got on Etsy. It is made of bedsprings and burlap roses. Love it!

  12. Oh my gosh I LOVE this! Boxwood is one of my all time favorite plants, and the wreaths, well, they're SO expensive! (I actually bought three boxwood plants in the hopes of growing them and one day making my own fresh boxwood wreaths!) This one looks fabulous! xoKathleen
