Happy Wednesday Friends! Last weekend was a fun filled trip, first to Cecilia B's B Farm and then on to Canton Trade Days. Today, we're both posting about our adventures so join us for a virtual road trip and a little bit of junkin' heaven...
The redbud trees are blooming--like this gorgeous one at The B Farm! |
Cecilia B and I became acquainted through blogging a little over a year ago and we discovered that we love many of the same things. Since her visit last fall--read about it here--we'd talked about me visiting her farm in the spring and heading from there to Canton. Both of our calendars were quickly filling up and in Texas, the heat can become an issue as early as April. With more of the recent perfect weather forecasted, Cecilia B suggested a spur of the moment road trip. After scurrying to make a few last minute arrangements, I was all in! I left Thursday morning to make the two and half hour drive to her city house in Pflugerville. From there, we drove 3 more hours to The B Farm. While Cecilia turned on the water, I snapped a quick shot of their charming sign.
We unloaded the car and then went to dinner. After the drive, we were h-u-n-g-r-y! Cecilia treated me to the best pizza I have ever eaten at Switch. Now, I've eaten New York pizza and seriously it couldn't touch our meal which also included a perfectly dressed salad and tiramisu for dessert. In Palestine, Texas --who knew?
The following morning, we headed to Canton. I was a first timer and thrilled to have a veteran like Cecilia B to point out the best places to hunt. We were both like two kids in a candy store!
Contemplating the folk art bunny...to buy or not to buy...
Cecilia B was really taken with that egg sign--isn't it cute?
Eye candy! As far as the eye could see...
We shopped mostly the outdoor areas, where the prices were best and most dealers were willing to bargain.
Aren't the vintage gliders fabulous?
Window wonderland...
...and luggage love!
Before we left, we browsed the indoor antique area. Most of the prices were on the high side, but it was still fun to look. Look at all of the teacups!
Of course I had to check out the jadeite.
The linen section housed carts and carts of vintage linens and lace--swoon! Many were stained, but we each found a few treasures to take home.
We shopped until we were ready to drop, but had such fun! We were worn out and crashed early that night. Before heading back to her city house the next morning, Cecilia gave me the tour of the farm.
This big barn will be transformed into her new art studio!
A sunny little patch of daffodils that can be seen from the back door:
Such a relaxing spot, it's not hard to see why it's Cecilia's...
Coming soon ~ Canton finds! Be sure to drop by and check out Cecilia B's treasures!
I'm so glad you got to go with me! You showcase Canton very nicely and yes, I wish I would have bought the egg sign. :o) Come back anytime!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cecilia
