Think Beachy Thoughts Chevron Wreath

Happy Wednesday, Friends!  I love the challenge of crafting with random clearance items like this chevron wreath I found 90% off.  Come see how I used things I already had at home for a little coastal inspiration...

As is often the case, I wasn't quite sure how I'd use it when I came across it at Hobby Lobby.  In the end, the I'll do something with it, mentality won out and home it came with me. At first glance, I'd thought it was a wooden wreath, but upon closer inspection, I came to the conclusion it was the letter O. Shhh... still looks a wreath to me! I thought the colors would be perfect for a coastal theme.  I've collected quite an assortment of thrifted pieces from the shore and decided to keep it really simple; no bows or baubles on this one.  I spent a little time playing around with the arrangement before hot gluing it.

The last few years I've had the pleasure of vacationing in Florida with family.  First, was the trip with my brother and his sweet family in Seaside. Then last year, I went with Mom to Hollywood. This year, we took a day trip to Corpus Christi during Dear Firstborn's  visit.  Whether it is a week vacation or just an afternoon, listening to the crash of the waves with the sand in your toes is so soothing! Sometimes I like to close my eyes, take a deep breath and...

Since I had everything else on hand, I only spent $3 on the wreath! I've heard from many of you who enjoy shopping clearance.  I would love to hear about your clearance projects!

  1. Hi Cecilia ... really cute idea. Could also be used for a table centerpiece by adding a bowl or vase in the middle with sand and shells or flowers. Love when bargain items that you have found on clearance turn out so nice.
