Red, White and Blue Yo-yo Wreath

Happy Wednesday Friends! Oh how I love nifty, thrifty handmade finds, like these colorful quilter's yo-yos ! Today I'm getting crafty with a patriotic flair...

Red, White and Blue Yo-yo Wreath

Imagine, I almost passed on a huge bag of these yo-yos in a rainbow of hues, because I wasn't sure if I would use them.  Then I considered the time someone invested, lovingly crafting each piece and my soft spot won out. The red, white and blue ones inspired me to make a simple embroidery hoop wreath--also thrifted for a mere .50!  I laid them out, trying different arrangements before hot gluing them.

Last, I added one strand of polka dot ribbon. I really wanted to keep it simple and here's the finished result...

  10. Love that wreath! Will look great any time of the year, really. Yoyo's are so fun to play with. Did you see that yo-yo bedspread posted on FineCraftGuild made with Amy Butler fabric... Mmmm Fabulous project, but yours is a bit more manageable to finish in a few hours! Love it. Well, girl, thank you again for coming to party with us. As always, we loved having you and look forward to your new contributions again tomorrow! ~ Rose, www.FineCraftGuild.com

  14. I've made a few things out of yo yos before, but never a wreath. I'll have to add this to my project list as I love how yours turned out!
