I've Taken' a Shine to You, Valentine!

Greetings Friends! Is it just me or did January seem to fly by? Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  I know some people consider the holiday primarily for sweethearts, but I enjoy taking the occasion to express my love to all of the special people in my life and that includes you! I have recreated a yard sale find to send some Valentine cheer your way...

Repurposed vintage shoe shine box
Remember this Vintage shoe shine box? Though I wasn't quite sure what I would do with it at the time, I was quite taken with it when I saw it for $5 at a yard sale this fall.  When the price is right, I have learned to pick up items that I am drawn to and trust that inspiration will come in time...

I thought it would make a charming centerpiece and though I briefly considered using it at Christmas, I could just picture it with delicate pink roses--so I opted for Valentine's Day instead. For a simple romantic repurpose, I gave it a very light white wash, added one of my thrifted Vintage linens and some grocery store roses.

I love pairing the elegance of roses with this thrifty rustic vessel! So glad you stopped by today and remember, you are loved!
