...A Friend That Sticks Closer Than A Brother

Greetings Friends! One of the best things about blogging are the kindred spirits I've met along the way. I am reminded of Proverbs 18:24....There is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Yesterday I was delighted to find this sweet package in my mailbox from a sister blogger.

Blogging gift
Can you believe how pretty the back is? Trust me the front is just as lovely but I chose not to give out my address :)  My kindred spirit is Jo from Anne's Attic-Design.  Her blog is as delightful as the gift she wrapped.  Below is the next layer...

and the next...

Surprise gift

Such a treat to unwrap and find each layer prettier than the one before it--can you stand the suspense?

Charming gift tag

Love her whimsical touches and below is the back of the card...

Ready to see what was inside? Warning...extreme cuteness alert!

Vintage embroidered linen

Around Christmas, dear Jo had displayed this charming piece in her kitchen.  I commented or maybe I should say gushed about it--the word swoon was probably involved ;)

Thoughtful gifts

I didn't see her handwritten card until after I had opened the gift--it brought tears to my eyes. Jo had joked that the little birdies kept nudging her to send them to me. What she couldn't have known was that my heart had been heavy.  Ginger Grand's 4th birthday was earlier in the week; the first time I wasn't with him to celebrate.  It hit me harder than I had anticipated and her timely, thoughtful gesture meant more than she could have realized. Some people might call it a random act of kindness but I consider it Providence.  I am so thankful for unexpected blessings and the friends God puts in our path, aren't you?
