Earth Day Inspired Bird Feeder from Vintage Match Holder!

Happy Earth Day! Today's simple project may be the easiest repurpose I have ever shared.  It took me longer to photograph than it did to assemble! Gotta love easy--plus it is fitting for the occasion...

Summertime: Preparing Your Garden For Vacation!

Happy Wednesday! Summer is vacation time which means not only making preparations for your travels but also your home and garden while you're gone.  I live in Texas and being away from my garden for a week could mean coming home to dead plants--that's no fun! No worries, I have learned a few precautions to help keep your flowers fresh while you're gone...

Put a Bird on It!

Hello Friends! Am I the only one who occasionally holds onto random items thinking, "I might use that for something..."?  I will confess that eventually some end up being donated or recycled elsewhere--especially if I happen to catch an episode of Hoarders! However, there are those rare times, when one of those keepers really does serve a purpose and therefore is no longer random. Ages ago, I picked up this Vintage hat stand at a yard sale. I was inexplicably drawn to the ornate free standing metal piece, though I absolutely did not have a use in mind. Enter random item number two; a round brass piece that was stuck in a box of frames a friend gave me. I think it was originally from a chandelier.  Though I started to throw it out more than once, it just looked like the finishing touch to something--again I didn't have a clue as to what...

Rings Around the Rosies: 3 Repurposed Garden Borders

Hi Friends! When I decided to add borders to some small rose bushes near my fence,  I wanted to use recycled materials and since I have several roses, decided to try a few different ideas. I often see sweet little china plates for next to nothing and as I've mentioned before, I am a pushover for pretty dishes.  I chose mostly floral patterns and I am really pleased with the results. In fact, this border turned out to be my favorite--it makes me think of an English cottage and having tea in the garden!

Garden Whimsy

Greetings Friends! In our busy lives, with our hectic schedules, don't we all need a little breath of the unexpected? In my garden, life is a bed of roses...or at least Rosemary or maybe a little of both! When I walk through the gate, it is my temporary refuge and I love to fill it with whimsical touches...

Friday's Find: Whimsical Violin Garden Sculpture

Thank God it's thrifty Friday! I am always looking for unique garden art. I had my eye on this whimsical metal viola for some time at one of the stores I frequent. When it was marked down 70%, I knew I "needed" to have it! The mirrored window was a previous find and I think they make a lovely couple.
