Happy Thursday, Friends! It's time for this month's Creative Craft blog hop hosted by Sara from Birdz of a Feather. Today I'm sharing a holiday project to showcase my vintage ornament collection. This festive wall display is also a great Christmas tree alternative when space is limited...
If you hopped over after visiting Tammy from Patina and Paint, welcome!
Start by hanging the top and bottom rows to define the space. I used TACKY adhesive to hang this beaded star topper.
Ornament trees can also be mounted on a board or hung from a screen. Since I often feature seasonal displays in the large upcycled vintage frame in the living room, I opted to hang the ornaments directly on the wall using silver thumbtacks. The tiny holes will be easily filled with spackle after the holidays. However, I suggest arranging the ornaments to decide placement before hanging them on the wall.
Notice that I tacked the ornaments without hangers but I made sure the tops were secure to the bulbs first.
Fill in the middle rows according to the color and sizes of your ornaments. TIP: My pattern consisted of 1,2, 3,5,5,5 with larger ornaments in the final row.
Thanks for stopping by! Next up is Jenna from The Painted Apron! Enjoy visiting the rest of my creative friends below:

This is lovely Cecilia and what a great idea to keep the frame up for seasonal displays! This is a sure a great option for us being that we have such a small space :)
ReplyDeleteCecilia I love this! First, if I'm not mistaken some of those ornaments are Shiny Brites? My absolute favorite of all time. We had an entire tree of them growing up and I've just started collecting them again. I do have some of the new ones, but something about the vintage ones just make me happy. I love this idea! Great job and thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea, Cecilia! The memories your vintage ornaments hold are priceless and so meaningful! And they look awesome in the way they are displayed in the frame! Quite lovely!
ReplyDeleteI just love this Cecelia! So pretty! What a great way to add decor to any space, big or small! I love the colors of the ornaments you used, and it looks great inside the frame! I can't wait to try this! Thank you and have a great holiday season!
