Happy Thursday, Friends! It's time for the monthly Creative Craft Hop hosted by Sara at Birdz of a Feather! Today I'm sharing the upcycle of an old favorite. Come see how easily I updated this cross candle sconce...
I received this rustic cross candle sconce as a housewarming gift from a dear friend over 20 years ago and proudly hung it over my mantel.
Recently, I decided to give it a makeover to better complement my decor. Maybe you have an old favorite tucked in a closet that could use an update. Want to achieve a similar look in 2 easy steps? First, make sure the surface is dust free and paint it with all-purpose white craft paint. (I found the stiff brushes pictured at Dollar Tree and they're great for getting in all the nooks and crannies.)
Then, wrap floral garland or silk floral stems around the piece and add an LED candle votive. That's all there is to it!

You can see this floral cross featured in my Spring Home Tour, here! I'm so glad you stopped by today! Next up is Gail from Purple Hues and Me. Check out the rest of these creative ideas:
My next post will be on Tuesday when I'll be joining my talented tablescaping friends!

ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning transformation Cecilia! You sure took it from rustic to pretty; I can't see you wanting to change it again in another 20 years, lol! So easy, but so impactful!
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun to see how something simple like paint and flowers does with a piece. Love how you took something plain and made it beautiful!
