Hi there, Friends! How has the "new normal" due to the pandemic affected your routine? Some of you may be cherishing the time with your kids home from school. Others have mentioned crafting through the crisis. I've been finding comfort by nesting in my home and garden. We had a lot of rain over the weekend, but in between showers, I managed to capture signs of spring in the garden. Take a stroll with me...
Just outside my front door, is a terracotta planter of oregano and dusty miller accented by whimsical bunnies from my thrifted collection.
I upcycled this Ikea birdhouse with paint and a yard sale baluster.
This charming St. Francis statue was a gift from a dear friend.
A thrifted metal chick is nestled in a terracotta pot planted with thyme and lavender seeds and rests on a chippy step stool outside my back door.
Blackfoot daisy, fragrant lemon balm and blooming thyme are welcome signs of spring in the garden.
Colorful pansies fill a vintage chicken feeder. I scored the feeder and pointing hand several years ago in Canton. Now they point us toward the back garden gate...
...where climbing pink roses are in full bloom!
Here's a close up of a perfect pink rose as well as the clustered Lady Banks rose.
It blooms profusely in spring--I'll need to trim it soon before it completely covers my outdoor clock!
Aromatic rosemary is a staple in my garden. It is currently adorned in its "blue dress" of blooms. The repurposed bird sculpture was crafted from an assortment of mismatched clearance and yard sale finds.
I hope my spring garden has brightened your day!
I know that being in the yard is for the soul, for sure. We basically are still at the clean-up stage here in Chicagoland, but your post gives a glimpse of what will who up later! Thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers, and your chicken feeder planter is so unique!
ReplyDeleteWonderful spring garden, Cecilia, a welcome respite for the soul right now especially.
ReplyDeleteCecelia,
ReplyDeleteeverything looks so pretty! we have had a nice weekend here with temps around 64 which is good for us but snow showers are predicted for Friday! Typical weather in April for NEPA!
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
I am SOOOO envious of you! In Maine, I have one clump of daffodils with fat buds--so far. The clump of purple crocuses kinda pooped out when they got 8" of snow on them last week! I enjoy seeing all your little touches; I would have a good time running my hands over your herbs and finding your little garden treasures.
