Embracing Fall in the Garden

Happy Tuesday, Friends! I have to be honest, with the temperatures here in Texas, Longing to Embrace Fall in the Garden may have been a more appropriate title! Even though the weather isn't cooperating, I made up my mind to add some autumn accents outdoors before it's time to decorate for the holidays! Join me along with a talented group of blogging friends...

...for the Embracing Fall tour hosted by Amber, at Follow the Yellow Brick Home. If you've dropped by after visiting Carol at The Red Painted Cottage, I know you enjoyed her lovely fall decor. Instead of skipping or rushing through autumn in the garden, I've kept it simple this year. The small assortment of pumpkins and mums I bought are arranged in places that are out of direct sunlight.

I created a simple seasonal display on a potting stand that I previously repurposed for serving and storage in my dining room. Recently, I upcycled a vintage dresser that serves the same function with additional storage, so I moved the potting stand outdoors.

This is the first time I've actually used it outside, and I had fun styling it for the season.

I've treasured my enamelware pieces for close to twenty years.

They were clearance finds at World Market. Remember my painted rooster?

I scored this little metal sign at Dollar General for .70! My local store has had great merchandise lately.

Here, you can see the full stand.

Happy Fall, y'all! Next on the tour is Paula at Virginia Sweet Pea--I can't wait to check out her charming fall decor!

  2. What a sweet vignette you have styled for fall in your garden. Your little squirrel reminds me of the sweet little squirrel that Amber had been displaying lately in her home! Your labeled containers are perfect for your garden! So happy to be hoping with you again!

  17. Oh my I am loving your simple fall garden treasures! The urn vignette makes my heart sing! Great Dollar General find. I noticed they have been upping their decor game this year.

Everything looks charming! We had some rain which cooled it down from 100 to high 70's but it still doesn't really have that crisp fall feeling I am longing for. Like you, I decided if I don't go ahead and do some outdoor decorating this week then the season is going to pass by and I love it too much to miss it, despite what the temperature may be.

Beautiful garden! Thank you for embracing fall with us!

  20. This is one of those times when our weather differences are so very extreme, Cecilia! You're trying to fake Fall and we're heading into winter:0 It's 33 degrees here with a dusting of snow covering all the fall colored leaves; I'm singing "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!" Your enamelware garden containers are very similar to some I get years ago at Joann's. I still love them!

  24. Cecilia, what a darling outdoor scene. The potting table is perfect for creating such a wonderful fall vignette now that we can enjoy the cooler outdoor weather. Love your sign and little squirrel. Lovely!!

  25. I love your garden table outdoors; it makes such good sense to repot plants outdoors, then just brush any dirt off onto the ground! I had my SO strip down the old gas grill for me to use as a repotting bench this summer; will christen it this spring at the rate I'm going!

  26. Sweet ideas for fall. Loving that adorable squirrel!
