Elegantly Eerie Halloween Tablescape

Happy Friday, Friends! Welcome to the Halloween Tablescape Hop hosted by Chloe at Celebrate & Decorate. I've so enjoyed seeing all of the creative tablescapes this week! Today I'm sharing mine--it's elegant and eerie...

When I scored these bird plates at the thrift store recently, I thought they had a slightly sinister appeal..perhaps, I've watched Alfred Hitchcock's movie too many times!

To create an elegant look for my Halloween table, I paired them with metallics--pewter and copper. The dark purple napkins add a dramatic effect against the vintage lace tablecloth.

I dressed up these mini cakes from the grocery store bakery with pretty gold and white sprinkles and fresh flowers.

I continued the theme on the mantel in my dining room...

...and skeletons are hanging from the chandelier, too!

  2. Well, I don't think Tippi Hedren will step foot anywhere NEAR your table, Cecilia, hehe. I think you found the perfect setting for those plates, taking the eeriness up a notch with those striking colors of copper and pewter on the table. That's really quite effective. I like that flatware and stems paired with the place settings too. The wreath is fantastic. Nice job, Alfred would be proud. ;)

  3. Cecilia, you captured the mysteriousness of those bird plates. Mixed with metals and surrounded by skulls, spiders and dark colors make it just the right amount of eeriness. Those yummy mini cakes look so delicious. Happy Halloween.

  4. Yes, the bird plates do feel a little dark and spooky! So smart to pair them with cooper and pewter and the dark purple flowers. My favorite is the old typewriter full of bony creatures on the sideboard and the chandy took me by surprise! Fun stuff Cecilia!

  6. Your bird plates and the reference to The Birds movie, gave me that creepy feeling that the movie conjures up! Those are perfect, and your black bird is looking quite sinister, too! Thanks for once again joining in another hop! Happy Halloween!

  9. Loved your tablescape and dining room decor--just enough eeriness without terror. I'd like to see you use the bird plates with pastels and something toile in the spring and I bet they won't seem spooky at all!
