Delightful Dishes by Taylor Smith and Taylor Friday's Find #248

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! This week's fabulous find is a set of vintage Taylor, Smith & Taylor dishes in the charming Boutonniere pattern. Don't you love the robin's egg blue inside the cup? I was able to mix the odd numbered set I found with a handful of random pieces I already had to complete a set to sell and a set to keep--a dishaholic's dream! Come learn a little more about these timeless beauties and see how I arranged them, too...

First, I have a few more finds from last week's neighborhood garage sale to share. I purchased all of these vintage linens from the same lady, Phyllis. This lovely rose trimmed tablecloth is gorgeous! AVAILABLE HERE!

I also bought some vintage embroidered pillowcases--a pretty pair featuring morning glories is AVAILABLE HERE!

Also,  a lovely little orphan featuring a colorful bouquet. AVAILABLE HERE!

This sweet little apron belonged to Phyllis' mother and and when she found out that I have several hanging in my kitchen, she insisted that I take it. I'm going to display it proudly. ;)

Now let's talk dishes! I've always loved the delicate floral design on this charming pattern.

In the early 1900s, in addition to manufacturing dishware and restaurant ware, Taylor, Smith & Taylor manufactured specialty pieces and believe it or not--toilet seats!

The company was founded by the Smith brothers and was originally known as Taylor, Lee & Smith but changed names when Lee left the pottery business. They were eventually bought out by Anchor Hocking, in 1972. The popular Lu-Ray Pastels were also manufactured by T,S & T.

This pretty pattern was manufactured from the 1950s-1962 during the mid-century modern era. Here's a closer peek at the pretty cup. The set I'm selling includes 4 dinner plates, 4 salad plates, 4 cups and 4 saucers. AVAILABLE HERE!

  4. Look how pretty they are in your cabinet! You have enough other teal dishes to really make them stand out. Such a pretty pattern!

  5. I love the arrangement in your china cupboard. And the apron! And the tablecloth with red roses (shades of my grandmother!). I used to embroider with all 6 strands (esp pillowcases) caz I figured with all the wash/wear over the years would thin the threads out; I was right! Loved your research, too; I appreciate learning tidbits caz I can absorb them instead of huge bites! Happy Mother's Day!

  8. These were my grandmother's dishes and now they are mine. I love them and have added to my collection for the past 25 years or so. I could probably serve 20 people!
