Happy Wednesday, Friends! I know many of you are still dealing with snow and may be experiencing spring fever. I thought a little garden inspiration might be welcome so today I'm sharing the simple upcycle of some stepping stones I found on clearance...
Actually I found a pair of lightweight stepping stones on clearance at a local garden shop after Valentine's Day last year. Better late than never--right? I have a lot of color in my garden and with their faux concrete finish, they kind of got lost. There's nothing like a last minute wedding to inspire a quick garden upcycle!
Previously, I've had good results with copper spray paint for garden projects.
I gave each stone a fresh coat...

...and voila! I love how the copper pops against the greenery of the ivy.
I want to share some changes that I'll be implementing to the blog soon. One of my goals for this year is to streamline my blogging schedule. Originally, I posted on Sundays, Fridays and Wednesdays. Then when I started hosting Vintage Charm, that added a fourth post each week. While I realize that some bloggers post daily, I've never been quite comfortable with the three days in a row Wednesday, Thursday, Friday sequence. The last thing I want is for my posts to go unread simply because they are coming too frequently! You may have noticed this week that I posted on Monday instead of Sunday. That's one of the changes I plan to implement on a weekly basis. The other change is that the Vintage Charm link party will be moving from Thursday to Wednesday. So...beginning next week, my posts will be scheduled regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. That's all--I just wanted to give you a heads up on what I believe will be a positive change ;)
I feel the same way you do, I don't post every day either. Four times a week is plenty for me, both in terms of not wanting to inundate readers and from a writing standpoint. Love your Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates, Cecilia - both in the garden and the blog! I have some stepping stones that might need a little polish this spring. :)
ReplyDeleteTo tell the truth, I never notice what days you post. I think, "Oh good, another one" and go right to it! Love the stepping stones. I have had good luck painting stuff black, the dry brushing it with acrylic paint to get the effect I want, but that's not weatherproof. I love metallic finishes and that copper is perfect with the green.
ReplyDeleteLove the stepping stones. So pretty! Well I do good to post one day a week so I am proud! LOL! Hope you have a great rest of the week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI never notice when people post, either. I'm just happy to see the post and read it. I post only once a week, and people are still commenting on it. I really don't think it matters when you post; post when it matters to you.
ReplyDeleteI am ready for Spring! Glad we aren't in the snowy parts and spring comes early around here. Painting these made a big difference - the color looks good against the green. I think having regular times to post will definitely make it easier. I always look forward to reading about what you're working on.

Here in Georgia it seems like Spring but I know there is still some cold weather to come. Love your heart shaped stepping stones and the paint makes them stand out great.
ReplyDeleteHow fun for a wedding...they turned out great, Cecilia!
ReplyDeleteI love the stepping stones! Great purchase and change!
ReplyDeleteStepping stones ... perfect for the wedding. Your rosemary looked so pretty and fresh. Hope mine is surviving the weather.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Audrey Z.
Those stepping stones are fantastic Celia, love the copper color - I have dragonfly shaped grey stones that would most definitely look better with a little copper color.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for schedules that work for you...and when I saw your stone in Instagram, I thought it was chocolate. Delicious either way!
ReplyDeleteFor a while I considered posting everyday but that's just too much for me. Since I'm retired I don't want my blog to feel like work. I will however do a little work to have garden stepping stones like these. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story. We hope you will join us again next week.
