Jolly Old Saint Nicholas: Friday's Find #227

Thank God it's thrifty Friday Friends! How is your Christmas season going? Have you finished decorating? I always enjoy finding thrifty Christmas trinkets during the holidays. These vintage miniature Santa mugs were only .50! Aren't they jolly?

They're definitely keepers--in fact, in Sunday's post I'll be sharing how I used them! Here's another keeper, I rarely pass on nice greenery like this small candle wreath.

I love the retro vibe of these vintage Saint Nicholas coasters. Set of five metal mini trays/coasters AVAILABLE

This 1956 collectible vintage plate by Shenango depicts a scene from the classic Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and is titled "Topper at Christmas Party," by J.S. Barrett. The artist truly captured the joy of the season and it just makes me smile. I've borrowed it for display in my kitchen until it sells ;) AVAILABLE

These handmade hearts feature lovely holly fabric and could be used as mug mats, coasters or other holiday decor. They would also be cute for applique crafts. AVAILABLE

These festive mini berry wreaths still had the original price tags when I found them. Wouldn't they be pretty as napkin rings or on candlesticks for the holidays?

  1. Wow, Cecilia! I love all of it, and would have a hard time parting with any of it, lol. Yes, the hearts are definitely great mug mats, and a definite yes on the candle rings as napkin rings. I did exactly that around this time of the year (last year) with some found at an estate.

  5. So many great finds! I stopped at my thrift shop to donate and did a quick walk thru and while I didn't buy anything I saw lots of cute Christmas items still out there for someone!!

  6. Loved all your treasures especially the Santa mugs. For years I used a Santa candy dish as a bathroom soap dish and mug for toothbrushes! I love using treasures for non traditonal uses; fingertip towels in a banana boat, talcum powder and puff in a pedestal glass candy dish. I'd like to see your Santas in a row with tealights in them! Or even hung on the tree as ornaments (the heavy stuff pulls down a branch to cover a Charlie Brown spot!).

  7. Some fun stuff Cecilia ... love the small berry wreaths. Lots of uses for those. I found three real pretty small candle wreaths this week and I love to hang them. Two will need the pine cones removed and something else added. Trying to get in the Christmas spirit. Fall decorations are still on the porch. Happy Holidays.

  8. I collect the small Santa mugs. In fact I found 3 today but mine were 65 cents each. Can't wait to see what you do with yours.

  9. I still have my mini Santa mug from childhood. I'm always looking for more but have yet to find any that aren't expensive. Great finds. The Dickens plate makes me smile too. Great Christmas finds!
