Made in England Vintage: Friday's Find #196

Thank God it's thrifty Friday! How has your first week of May been? It's been lovely weather here and I've been enjoying a little more time in the garden. This week's fabulous finds have a common theme--they were all made in England. First, this charming collectible plate...

...would make a thoughtful gift for any mom. I wasn't familiar with Norma Sherman, but after a little research I learned that she designed quite a few collectibles. I like the backstamp inscription. Available

Next, I found an identical pair of Wedgwood Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit plates. I've been reading her books to Ginger Grand during our Facetime chats. He's quite enamored with the mischief little bunny so I've already promised him one when he comes to visit--in 33 days(!)--but the other is Available.

Isn't this small Cuthbertson Home Christmas platter lovely? I learned it is part of their original popular Christmas Tree pattern series. I like the contrast of the holly and mistletoe. Available

I've sold several stenciled plates in Thrift Store Addiction, so I plan to stencil this pretty ironstone pair.

Last but not least, this was a new-to-me Johnson Brothers' ironstone pattern: Sugar and Spice was manufactured in the 70s.

  3. I have that Norma Sherman plate (in red...go figure!)!! I found it in a thrift store with my husband and remarked how pretty it was. A few weeks later I found it under the Christmas tree. It was a perfect present and has been on display in my kitchen ever since. I love the blue, too...

  4. I am in love with the blue and white plate! It would go perfect in my kitchen. I am thinking about it as I just treated myself to a copper cat mold from another shop!

  6. Johnson Brothers has always been a favorite of mine, back from when I was a bridal consultant. I used to get hefty discounts and picked up quite a few pieces, many of which looked like your finds.

Beautiful pieces Cecilia! You must be thrilled :)
