Happy Mother's Day! I hope you are being celebrated and pampered today. In the spirit of relaxation, I'm sharing eye candy from a favorite local event that I attend every year, the Becker Vineyards Lavender Festival.
Becker Vineyards is located in Stonewall, Texas just past Fredericksburg and about a 30 minute drive for me. Due to the early spring temperatures, the lavender bloomed early this year, so I wasn't able to photograph fields in bloom. Even so, it was a beautiful sunny morning when I arrived and there was still plenty to see. Here's the main tasting room and gift shop. The front path is lined with native plants.
To the side of the main building is The Veranda, where you can buy wine by the glass or bottle...
...and find a shady place to sit and enjoy it.
The lavender festival is where I tasted my first lavender lemonade and I've been hooked ever since! {See my recipe here!}
It also showcases local artisans like these whimsical dish flowers created by Mosaic Garden Treasures. {You can see the repurposed dish flower I brought home from last year's festival here!}
I was quite smitten with their mosaic ladybugs and birdbath!
Aren't these wine stoppers fun?
The Garden Shed really caught my eye with their charming displays!
Their floral arrangements and wreaths were just gorgeous. The first (and last) photo of the post was also captured from their booth--thanks, Crystal! Just lovely!
Though I failed to get a picture of their booth this year, another one of my favorite vendors is M & J Gifts and Lavender Farm. Over the years, I've purchased lovely lavender bouquets and natural handmade candles from them that smell divine. Below is a sample from the Becker Lavender Market where you can find everything from home decor to lavender bath and body products like these luscious lavender pumpkin soaps!

ReplyDeleteHi Cecilia, Oh how wonderful this would be to visit. Thank you for sharing this festival from right here in Texas. I will have to make a note to try and visit here in the future. The lavender Lemonade sounds delicious. Your photos are beautiful. Wishing you a Happy Mother's Day. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh fun, Cecilia! I didn't realize they had this festival. I'd love to go next time! So much lovely things to see. I bet it all smelled heavenly!
ReplyDeleteI love to go see festivals and events where creative people display their wares. There used to be a tea place here that served lavender lemonade, and it was delicious, but hers would have a pale lavender
ReplyDeletecolor to it. Mmmm!
I hear there is a lavender festival here in Georgia, but I've never gotten the details. Love the dish flowers. Sounds like a wonderful day.

ReplyDeleteI have never been to a lavender festival, this looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the amazing smells of this festival.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me excited about all the art festivals, and that I want to check out a lavender festival.
ReplyDeleteCecilia,
ReplyDeleteI love lavender and hope to make it to the Stonewall festival one of these days.

If going to Texas is too far south west then try Lavender festival in Palisade, CO. This is close to Grand Junction, CO. the festival is July 5-7th. Palisade is wine country but also lavender country, are several lavender farms all over Mesa county. Is a very nice festival. Nice town. Kinda hot then but still pretty and fun to attend.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Love all the eye candy . I've never heard of a lavender festival before . I've so enjoyed reading this and looking st all the wonderful pictures . Hugs and blessings , Cindy
ReplyDeleteIt sounds heavenly, Cecilia... the grounds, the smells, the shops.... wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteI hope your Mother's Day was lovely.
xo,

I can almost smell the lavender through your posts. My mother used to make lavender sachet bags for our closets before the paper sachets became popular.
ReplyDeleteI Love everything country so that wreath and the lace wound through the flowers caught my attention.
Had fun stopping by here from Inspire Me Monday. Almost as good as a visit to the festival.

War das ein Markt? Wenn ja, dann hätten mir sehr viele Dinge gut gefallen um sie mitzunehmen nach Hause!!!

This looks like a perfect day to me. Everything is so pretty, thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteCecilia, I'm catching up on posts with the weekly Vintage Charm (thank you for co-hosting), and I love all things lavender, so I'm backtracking. I also am crazy for anything lemon (they are staples in my diet, mostly in water I drink), but I am interested in your lemonade recipe (I pinned it). Question - what is monkfruit in the raw? The link to Target says product unavailable, so I'm curious how critical it is in your recipe? Thanks!

DeleteRita, thanks so much for alerting me to the bad link. I have since updated the recipe (minus monkfruit) and the link in the post for anyone who wants the recipe. Enjoy!
