Vintage Charm Features of the Week:

Cecilia’s Pick

Tuula blogger at Thrifty Rebel Vintage has been busy as a bee giving her kitchen a head-to-toe thrifty vintage makeover. I have followed and admired her progress time and time again. This week she proved the importance of DIY perseverance when she ended up hating the paint color resulting from the first attempt on her Kitchen China Cabinet Makeover. Ever resourceful, Tuula mixed her own paint, adding white to the lovely aqua color she used on her kitchen cabinets producing the gorgeous shade here. She then added red polka dot paper to the back of the cabinet for a darling retro chic finish. Be sure to drop by to see all of the details, including the first color fail and what she used to paper her cabinet!

Rheta from Vintage Eve's found a pretty little cup and saucer for her shop. The Lady Louise pattern is from the 1940s and made by Syracuse China. Rheta was curious about who they were, so she did a bit of research making her a girl after my own heart. You know how I love to research my vintage finds. So if you are curious about the company that made the pretty little cup and saucer too, check out AKA Syracuse China.

Last week, Lora from Create and Ponder shared with us some truly vintage finds! She was lucky enough to receive as a gift, a milk crate filled with old bottles that were dug up from the Minneapolis dump a number of years ago. I was intrigued, to say the least when I heard that! Turns out at least three of those bottles are indeed the kind of vintage we would all love to find! Be sure to stop by Antique Bottles to find the unique history behind each of them.

If there's one place I regret never having had the chance to visit when we lived in England, it's a French flea market (or brocante.) In her post, My Paris Market Photo Shoot Amy who blogs at Brocante Treasures, gives us a real taste of this wonderful French experience. Oh, and my goodness, you should see the treasures she brought home with her!
