Polka Dot Golden Easter Egg Wreath

Happy Wednesday Friends! Today's project was inspired by memories of childhood. When I was a little girl, attending my church's Easter egg hunt was an annual event. Hunt though I might, somehow the prized golden egg always escaped me!

I have been getting busy with gold paint lately and I am enjoying adding the gilded accents to my spring decor.  After painting some thrifted plastic eggs gold, I added white polka dots with the end of my paint brush. This one's resting on my spool of ribbon, ready for drying.

I found this mossy ribbon half price at Michael's and decided it would serve as the "grass" for my eggs.

I attached the moss with the hot glue gun, stretching a piece and then gluing until the wreath form was covered.  I used exactly one 2 1/2 yard roll of ribbon for a 12" wreath.

Before adding the eggs, I combined two types of ribbon to make a double bow.  Making bows is not one of my strengths, but I've learned to create a simple, not-to-frilly version by tying one bow on top of the other.

Last, I glued on the dotted golden eggs and

a little bee...just bee-cause ;)
